Job description
As an all-around technical intern, you work under the supervision of the technical producer. Together you ensure that the entire production runs smoothly. This means that you arrange the preparations for the tours and performances and make agreements with venues (national and international). You work regularly from the office, but you could also travel when we have performances on tour nationally, or run from here to here to prepare things before or during a production. 
 
If you do an internship at ICK Amsterdam, we have a rich palette of different projects. The organization runs on different levels such research/academy, ensemble, new makers and community. This ensures that your work can look very varied. Support your colleague in setting up large national productions and preparatory work for an international tour. Support and implement small productions by novice makers or setting up online lessons, lectures, etc.
 
Your work
As an all-round technician intern, you contribute to general production support such as:

• Preparing the equipment for the tours
• Giving technical support for new makers
• Helping out with load-ins or load-outs from the company
• Researching new technologies for future productions
• Keeping track of the logistics of upcoming shows
• Gathering information from the theaters where performances will be held.

Candidate profile
During your internship you will learn and, depending on your learning goals, you will be given more and more responsibilities with us. We are looking for someone who:

• Has basic knowledge on audio, lighting and video.
• An investigative character and someone who works accurately.
• Knows the QLab, Dante and Wysiwyg is an advantage.
• Rolls up their sleeves and can functions well in a small, fast-moving team.
• Can take on tasks, and ask critical questions upon receiving the assignment and once you get started.
• Does their best to think ahead, act and carry out your assignment successfully.
• Does not mind working hours during the day as well as during the evenings (always open to discuss).

The format of the internship is very flexible and we are open to discuss and tailor to your needs. Trial and error is part of an internship, with us you get the opportunity to expand your qualities in a safe environment!

ICK Dans Amsterdam is een internationaal platform voor hedendaagse dans en hét stadsgezelschap hedendaagse dans van Amsterdam. Met een divers team maken we dansvoorstellingen, ondersteunen we jonge choreografen en doen we onderzoek naar dans. In september 2021 zijn we verhuisd naar het iconische gebouw Westbeat, waarmee we als Space for Dance Art aanwezig zijn in de stad en hebben we onze eigen theater-studio en workshop-ruimtes voor ons gezelschap. ICK zoekt een 

PRODUCTIELEIDER (X/M/V)
 
Per direct – 32-40 uur per week (of in overleg)

De Productieleider is verantwoordelijk voor de planning, uitvoering en afronding van de producties van de ICK Company. Je maakt deel uit van de productieafdeling en zorgt voor de totstandkoming van onze voorstellingen, workshops en mediaprojecten. De Productieleider overziet alle producties en heeft de verantwoordelijkheid voor mensen en middelen. Je produceert nieuwe creaties, internationale tournees en hernemingen. Je werkt nauw samen met de technische afdeling en vormt de spil in het productieproces. 
 
Gezamenlijk met de directie en de rest van het team werk je ook aan de ontwikkeling van de Space for Dance Art, onze bruisende nieuwe thuishaven van de dans; kruising tussen museum, danslokaal, mediatheek, theater, galerie, haven, publieke ruimte; plek van creatie, onderzoek en happening.

Wat maakt ons een goede match?

• Je hebt ervaring in de productie van podiumkunst of media; 
• Je bent punctueel, een echt organisatietalent, schrikt niet van deadlines en weet anderen ook aan afspraken te houden; 
• je hebt oog voor mens en detail en door je sociale vaardigheden kan je ook een inhoudelijk gesprek voeren met jonge makers en de directie;
• Je hebt ervaring met het opstellen en bewaken van projectbegrotingen, waarbij de overkoepelende begroting in acht genomen worden;
• Je hebt een ondernemende instelling en vindt het leuk om over de functie en mogelijkheden van Space for Dance Art mee te denken;
• Je beheerst de Nederlandse en Engelse taal in woord en geschrift.

ICK Dans Amsterdam is an international dance platform and Amsterdam's city contemporary dance company. With a diverse team, we create dance performances, support young artists and develop research projects. ICK received prestigious awards and has toured all over the world for the past 20 years.
 
In September 2021, we moved to the iconic Westbeat building, giving us a presence in the city as Space for Dance Art and having our own theatre studio and workshop spaces for our company. ICK is looking for:
 
a full-time 1st theater stage manager with specialization Sound/AV (x/m/f) 
 
As 1st theatre stage manager, you are responsible for the coordination and technical preparation and execution of all ICK Amsterdam productions at home and abroad. You will work in a small team together with a full-time lighting technician.

 What will you do? 

• Preparing, creating and archiving performance and files for rehearsals and performances at home and abroad. 
• Building up and breaking down all the theatre technology required for performances.
• Operating the video/sound equipment during performance. 
• You provide support for the young makers. 
• Maintaining all technical installations in the building. 
• Managing and, if necessary, repairing equipment and maintaining storage space. 
• Carrying out preparatory work for the realisation of productions.

• You have at least MBO+/HBO working and thinking level, affinity with performing arts and several years of relevant experience;  
• You are enthusiastic, responsible and willing to work irregular hours, mostly at weekends. Sometimes you also work abroad. 
• You have social and communicative skills and a healthy sense of humour. 
• You are well-organised, but also have the ability to improvise. 
• You have knowledge of safety in the field of rigging, décor, special fx and flammable materials. 
• You have a good written and oral command of the Dutch and/or English language. 
• You are eager to learn and keep your knowledge up to date. 
• You can work both independently and in a team. 
• You have knowledge of QLAB 5
• You are at home in electronics, data network and Wysiwyg CAD software. 

You preferably live in (the neighborhood of) Amsterdam and have a driving licence.
