The physical and psychological extremes of boxer and dancer. A dark full ride.

Every move in this performance is the result of a choice; with a particular movement, the dancer isn't just creating a form, but also adopting a position.



In ROCCO, dancers become boxers and boxers become dancers. They challenge each other in a boxing ring with telling blows, nimble footwork and virtuoso tactics. The dancers represent brotherly love in all its facets: the good and the bad, the devil and the angel, the androgynous and the incestuous. Cain and Abel, Romulus and Remus, Laurel and Hardy. Based on the film by Luchino Visconti: Rocco e i suoi fratelli, it exposes physical and psychological extremes, like the film does. The intense abandon in the film's boxing scenes finds a parallel in the physical dedication of the dancers.
