WE THE INTUITIVE BODY / HARMONIC DISSONANCE: PHANTOM BODY

The performance WE the Intuitive Body by Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten, artistic directors of ICK Dance Amsterdam reveals the inspiring power that lies between reason and instinct. We see and experience the vulnerability and counterforce of the body, how the breath can direct our bodies and how we can be guided by our instinct. The dancers are accompanied by echoes of their bodies, captured in the installation Phantom Body by artist Matthias Oostrik neuroscientist Suzanne Dikker, composer Than van Nispen and dance researcher Suzan Tunca - developed on behalf of Museum De Lakenhal. The project is part of Harmonic Dissonance - an interdisciplinary research program on how synchrony in movement and brain waves can be measured and made visible, with the ultimate goal of developing tools that can facilitate interpersonal communication - between partners, performer and audience, therapist and client.
